TapHey is a social app for meeting and chatting with friends worldwide from different cultures. It is not a dating app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and what choices you have when using TapHey and our website.
Information We Collect
Account Profile Data
When you create an account, we store the profile data you provide:
- Username
- Profile photo
- Bio/status text
- Selected country badge
Apple / Google Sign-In Data
TapHey supports sign-in with Apple or Google only. When you sign in, we process the account identifiers and authentication data provided by that sign-in method, and we may receive basic account information such as your provider user ID and email address if it is shared by Apple or Google.
Selfie Verification Data
To confirm that users are real people, TapHey requires selfie verification. We process verification selfies, verification status, and related technical metadata needed to approve or reject access. Unverified accounts cannot use TapHey.
Content and Interaction Data
To provide the app experience, we process content and interaction records such as:
- Profile discovery and connection activity
- Chat messages and shared chat media
- Reports, blocks, and moderation actions
- Verification outcomes and related account access status
What We DON'T Collect
TapHey does not ask you to create or manage:
- ✗ No Secret Key
- ✗ No TapHey password reset flow
- ✗ No phone-based login requirement
- ✗ No social media account linking
- ✗ No contact list access for sign-up
When you contact support through our website, you may provide an email address so we can reply to your request.
How We Use Your Information
We use information to operate and improve TapHey, including to:
- Provide core features: sign-in, profile discovery, chats, notifications, and account access
- Verify identity: review selfie verification results and determine whether an account can use the app
- Maintain safety: process reports, blocks, moderation checks, and anti-fraud reviews
- Support accounts: help with app issues and support requests
- Improve reliability: troubleshoot technical issues and keep the service working as intended
Face Verification and Face Data
TapHey requires selfie verification before an account can access the platform. This verification is used only to confirm that the person taking the verification selfie matches the profile photos uploaded during registration.
- Purpose: Face images are used only to verify identity during account verification.
- Face data retention: TapHey does not permanently retain face data or verification selfies after verification is completed.
- Storage period: Verification images are processed temporarily during the verification process and are deleted immediately after the verification is complete.
- What we keep: Only the verification result (for example, Verified or Not Verified) may be stored with your account.
- Third party: Verification images are securely processed using Amazon Rekognition, a service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), solely to perform the requested identity verification.
- Reason for sharing: Images are shared only to compare the verification selfie with the profile photos uploaded by the user.
- Third-party retention: TapHey does not instruct Amazon Rekognition to retain verification images after processing. Please refer to Amazon Web Services documentation for details about its processing practices.
- No biometric identification: TapHey does not use face data to identify users across other users, databases, or services, and does not create biometric templates or facial recognition profiles.
- No sale of face data: TapHey never sells face data or shares it with advertisers.
Verification Requirement
Verification is a required part of TapHey access:
- Selfie verification must be completed before an account can use the app.
- Verification status may be reviewed again if we detect safety, fraud, or policy concerns.
Safety and Moderation
TapHey includes reporting and blocking tools to help protect the community. We may review reports, apply enforcement actions for guideline violations, and use moderation systems to reduce fake, abusive, or explicit content. Our goal is to support a respectful friendship-focused experience across cultures.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run TapHey:
With Other TapHey Users
Your profile information and in-app interactions are visible to other TapHey users based on product functionality. Your verification selfie is not displayed publicly to other users.
With Service Providers
We use service providers (such as hosting, messaging, moderation, and verification services) to operate TapHey.
For Sign-In and Verification
We rely on Apple, Google, and verification-related providers to authenticate accounts and process required identity checks.
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose data when required by law or when necessary to protect users and the platform.
What We Never Do
We do not sell personal data.
Data Security
We apply technical and organizational controls intended to protect TapHey systems and user data. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard account, chat, and verification information appropriately.
Account Recovery and Deletion
You access TapHey through the same Apple or Google account you used to sign up. If you lose access to that provider account, recovery may depend on restoring access with Apple or Google first. You can request account deletion from in-app privacy options, which starts the removal of your profile and related account data from TapHey systems.
Your Controls
Inside the app, you can:
- Edit your profile data
- See whether your account is verified
- Block and report users
- Delete your account
Children's Privacy
TapHey is intended for adults. If we learn an account is being used in violation of applicable age requirements, we may take action, including account removal.
International Users
TapHey is available globally. Data may be processed in countries where our providers operate infrastructure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. The updated date at the top reflects the latest version.
