Echo Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Echo handles gameplay progress, optional Apple sign-in, cloud sync, leaderboard profiles, purchases, advertising, support requests, and account removal.
1. Overview
Echo is a mobile game from PING Game Studio. The game is hosted online under the Taphey website for its App Store pages, but Echo is a separate game experience from the TapHey social app.
You can play the core game without creating an account. Optional online features, such as cloud sync, public profiles, and leaderboard ranking, require Sign in with Apple.
Short version: Echo does not ask for contacts, precise location, phone number, or social media accounts. The core game can run offline. Online features and ads may process additional data as described below.
2. Data we handle
Local gameplay data
Echo stores gameplay progress on your device, including coins or acorns, best score, survival time, unlocked heroes, selected hero, achievements, settings, tutorial status, and Pro entitlement status.
Apple sign-in data
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Echo may process your Apple user identifier, display name, and email address if Apple provides it. The email address may be a private relay address managed by Apple.
Cloud sync and leaderboard data
If you sign in, Echo may sync your progress to cloud services so you can restore progress on another device. If you create a public leaderboard profile, Echo may store and display your username, bio, avatar choice, optional profile photo URL, best score, and survival time.
Purchases
Echo uses Apple's StoreKit for the optional Echo Pro purchase. Apple processes payment information. Echo receives purchase entitlement status so it can remove ads for Pro players.
Advertising data
Free players may see ads through Google AdMob. Depending on your device settings, region, and consent choices, AdMob may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, product interaction data, and ad performance data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and compliance.
Support communications
If you contact support, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, app version, username, and message content.
3. How data is used
- To run the game, save progress, apply settings, and keep purchases active.
- To sync progress across your devices after Sign in with Apple.
- To show public leaderboard rankings and player profiles when you opt into those features.
- To provide support, investigate bugs, and respond to account or purchase questions.
- To show and manage ads for free players and prevent ad abuse or fraud.
- To comply with App Store, legal, safety, and security requirements.
4. Third-party services
Echo may use the following services to provide app functionality:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, App Store distribution, receipts, and refund handling.
- Firebase / Google Cloud: Authentication support, cloud sync, public profiles, leaderboard storage, and optional profile image storage when enabled in the app build.
- Google AdMob: Ad delivery, rewarded ads, interstitial ads, ad measurement, and fraud prevention for non-Pro players.
We do not sell your personal information. Public leaderboard profile information is visible to other Echo players if you choose to create and publish a profile.
5. Your choices and controls
Play as guest
You may play the core game without signing in. Guest progress is stored locally on your device and may be lost if the app is deleted or device data is erased.
Ad choices
You can use iOS privacy controls, including App Tracking Transparency and advertising settings, to manage certain ad-related identifiers and permissions. Echo Pro removes ads permanently through a one-time purchase.
Account removal
You can remove your Echo account in the app from Settings, then Danger Zone, then Remove Account. Account removal deletes your profile and leaderboard entry where cloud services are enabled, signs you out, and clears local progress. You can also contact support at contact@taphey.app for help.
Retention
Local game data remains on your device until you reset progress, remove your account, delete the app, or erase device data. Cloud profile and leaderboard data is retained while your account is active and removed when account removal is completed, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention periods.
Children
Echo is not submitted as an app made for the Kids category. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can help review and remove it.
